Baldur's Release No. 11 is an exceptional 11-year three-grain whisky, masterfully blending rye, corn, and wheat through a unique dual-barrel maturation process.
The wheat whisky was first aged in small 10-gallon new oak barrels, allowing for intense interaction with fresh oak that developed deep notes of caramel, toasted vanilla, and rich baking spice before being transferred to once-used bourbon casks, where it mellowed and gained added complexity alongside the rye and corn components.
The result is a beautifully layered whisky with aromas of honeyed oak and dried fruit, a velvety palate of butterscotch and spice, and a long, balanced finish that showcases the influence of both fresh and seasoned oak.
